　　Communication: There are seven main railways (Beijing-Guangzhou, Hunan Province –Guizhou Province, Hunan Province –Guangxi Province ,Zhejiang Province –Jiangxi Province, Shimen County –Changsha, Jiaozuo City –Liuzhou City and Luoyang City –Zhangjiang City) run through Hunan Province linking east and west, south and north. The Hunan sector of Yuhuai railway will be completed and put into service this year. It has an operating kilometer of 2774.15KM, ranking the ninth in China. The seven national highway (NO.106,107,319,320, etc) whose total mileage is 87877KM reaches every corner of Hunan Province. There are also many high-grade highways, such as Beijing –Zhuhai(Guangdong Province) highway Hunan section, Changsha-Yiyang-Changde highway,Xiangtan-Shaoyang highway, Hengyang-Zaomupu highway, Changsha-Liuyang highway, Yijiawang-Zhuzhou highway. By the end of 2004, Hunan squashed into the top ten longest road mileage lists of China with a road mileage of 1218KM. In addition, the Changde-Zhangjiajie highway, Shaoyang-Huaihua highway which is under construction will be finished in this year and the next year respectively. Flights from Yellow Flower airport and Zhangjiajie airport can fly to Korea and Hongkong directly. Yongzhou airport and Zhijiang airport are also in service. Water mileage reaches to 11968KMs. There are two 5000 ton berths in the foreign trade dock of Chenglinji, Yueyang City.
　　Electricity: Great achievements have been made in the construction of the major electricity electric network and reformation of urban and rural electric network in the whole province. By the end of 2004, the engine capacity of Hunan Province had reached 14050, 000kw. In 2004, 61.4 billion kwh electricity had been generated.
　　Communication: Communication capacity has been increasing by times year by year. Optical fiber cable, shortwave and microwave has weaved a communication network that extends in all directions. Fixed-line telephone subscribers had rocketed into 10.859 million by the end of 2004, and the number of cell phone users is 9.657million; that is, 16 fixed-line telephone subscribers, 14.2 cell phone subscribers out of every 100 people. Hunan Information Harbor was established; seven modern telecommunication networks (World Wide Web, super capability distant digital communication network of above county level, program-controlled telephone network, mobile phone network, videophone meeting network of above city/ prefecture level, digital & data network, and audio information service network) are also available. International/ national direct-dial distant phone services are available in all the urban areas of every county and city.
　　Municipal construction: There are 29 cities, 1097 organic towns in Hunan Province, with a urbanization rate of 32%. The city system framework is coming into being step by step. The cities(whose daily water supply is 52311,000,running water popularization rate is 82.53﹪,gas popularization rate is 57.35﹪, road area per capita is 6.06m2, water treatment rate is 22.05﹪, garbage & excrement decontamination treatment rate is 24.35﹪)ranks in the middle in China, remaining large space for investment. Management of city planning & construction in Hunan has basically realized transparent operation, window application and whole-process tracking service.

Early in 1999, the penetration of Tianmen Mountain Cave airshow has opened the curtain of tourism.

A series of activities such as the “longevity culture festival and temple fair”, foundry of the “longevity tripod of China”, Adiliy’s walking on steel wire in the air, upper-air ladder climbing world championship, etc. has been held every year since 2000,which has bring prosperity and well reputation to the ancient mountain.
　　Nowadays, more and more scenic spots have changed their operation guideline from sales promotion to brand marketing. The yearly-held tourism festivals has opened the sleeping doors one by one to the outside world and raised the mysterious veils layer by layer .
Through planning to build reputation; through reputation to attracts a large quantity of tourists; and from tourists we made a lot of money. Thanks to the successful large tourism programs, Hunan has caused great stir effects and achieved considerable economic benefits. At present, Heng Mountain welcomes 3000,000 tourists every year, with a total gaining of 90million Yuan. Tourist revenue of Zhangjiajie increased by three times, coming to 400million Yuan. Crowded tourists have not only stimulated Hunan’s economy, but also enrich the local people. It’s estimated that there are over 1200,000 people engaged in tourism.

　　The 10th five-year plan was the golden time in the history of Hunan’s tourism. With government’s lead and market adjustment, tourism entered into a new era even in off-peak season and backward spots. The landscape tourist industry is blooming. We can expect of tourist flow quantity of 676million (both from Hunan and any other part of the world), that’s 1.44 times that of 2000. The total revenue of tourism would be 45billion,that’s 3.4 times that of 2000. The gaining raised by 26％ every year.
　　Within a short period of five years, Hunan tourism had witness an unprecedented development in the past 5 years. Its structure is becoming more and more reasonable, its system more and more perfect, and its status higher and higher. Marked by Gold Week holidays, tourism enters a popular stage, 84.8％of citizens, both from urban and rural areas are spending holiday. Stimulated by the demands of tourism, eating, boarding, traveling, shopping and entertainment all seized its opportunity to grow. Tourism has become a pillar industry of the national economy and a new point of growth. It is anticipated that the gaining from tourism will amount to 7％ GDP this year.
　　“9＋2” has won support from State Council, Hunan speed up the process of integration into the Pan-Zhujiang Delta.
The nine provinces(Guangdong ,Hunan, etc) together with Hong Kong and Macau, with the purpose of expand impact, will held a development forum for “9＋2”cooperation in July to broaden its effects and pursue expanding research from government, enterprise to academic, which means an practical advancement of the fast integration.

Regional cooperation and development of the Pan-Zhujiang Delta forum preparation meeting was held on 8th April. While Guangdong, already in the later stage of middle industrialization, needs to shift industry urgently because of its rising high cost and shrinking land resources. Hunan and Guangdong have incomparable complimentarily in resources, industry, market and human resources for each other, and therefore can benefits from each other in developing their own specific economy.
　　There has been the saying from ancient times that those who seize Hunan province and Hubei province seize the world. The raise in railway speed will speed the communication between central China region and south China region.
Because there were almost no water ways for transportation between central China regions like Hunan and Zhujiang delta, all the goods and people have to be transported by economical railway transportation. People attended the preparation meeting believed that the raise in rail way speed has made a solid foundation for Hunan to be a part of the Pan-Zhujiang delta. As a result of the speed raise of Beijing-Guangzhou railway, it only takes ten hours to travel from Hong Kong to Changsha through Zhujiang delta. Connection and communication between Hong Kong, Guangdong and Hunan will be more convenient and more immediately. With Guangzhou Railway Group’s direct passenger train and baggage, post train service, communication will be further extended and transportation space will be broadened.
The speed raise of railway Beijing-Guangzhou will definitely strengthen Hunan’s status in the Zhujiang delta.
　“9＋2” has won support from State Council
It’s reported that the report made by Guangdong, Hunan, Fujian etc on further cooperation of extensive Zhujiang delta region and hosting cooperation &development forum of the region and trade negotiation meeting have be approved and supported by the State Council.
After negotiation with Hong Kong Special Administration government and Macau Special Administration government, the forum and negotiation meeting will be co-host by the nine provincial (administration) government, Hong Kong Special Administration government and Macau Special Administration government in July this year. Relevant personnel will negotiate the ways, content, function, property and tendency of economic cooperation in the 11 regions. Effective and practical cooperation among the “9+2” regions will be broadened in the trade negotiation meeting.
